September 2015, American Dairyman
In the September 2015 issue of American Dairyman on page 41, read how O&T Farms has supported Independent University research to help develop its specialty Omega-3 feed called linPRO-R. This specialty feed, with its primary ingredient being flaxseed, is a ruminant protected Omega-3 fat that provides an all natural lift to the quality of the milk. On top of the enhanced Milk quality is the support provided to the immunity (health) level of the dairy cows. Read more in the September article on how linPRO-R can support dairy producers and processors with improved livestock health and food branding opportunities at retail.
September 2015, Progressive Dairyman
In the September 2015 issue of Progressive Dairyman on page 32, Janna Moats discusses her findings of using extruded flaxseed (linPRO-R) to enhance milk with both Omega-3’s and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Janna goes on to say that feeding linPRO-R to dairy cattle can improve the health of the animal while simultaneously improving the nutritional value of the milk for consumers. Janna’s work is part of her Masters research done at the University of Saskatchewan, working out of the Rayner Dairy Barn.
